speedy deletions

Hi Hayford, I had emailed Celine and told her how to ask for a page to be deleted. I told her about the {{speedydelete}} template, but not the comment afterward because I was going to delete it, but YOU BEAT ME TO IT AGAIN!  :-) Hey, I'm impressed that you found the {{speedydelete}} template! What Hayford means is that he needs you to type a | after the speedydelete and then give a reason. Like this: {{speedydelete|because I made this page and don't want it anymore}}. There are lots of other little things, too, that Hayford can teach you as well, so feel free to ask him when I am not here! D. Matt Innis 00:20, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Celine, your course page CZ:(U00984) Appetite and Obesity, University of Edinburgh 2009 is now pre-formatted and supplemented with templates for the article structure (CZ:(U00984) Appetite and Obesity, University of Edinburgh 2009/Template article) and their subpages' metadata (CZ:(U00984) Appetite and Obesity, University of Edinburgh 2009/Metadata template). Please adjust the content as you see fit, also for the course's policy on collaborative editing (CZ:(U00984) Appetite and Obesity, University of Edinburgh 2009/EZnotice). Im confused, is the page I've got so far still a template? and do I still need to have links to create student articles even if I won't need more than the 8 I already got? Celine Caquineau 13:07, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the confusion — I had just sent you an email on these matters. The page CZ:(U00984) Appetite and Obesity, University of Edinburgh 2009/Template article is meant to be a template for the articles created by the "press this button" method, as displayed on the course page. The reason behind creating Eduzendium articles this way is that students without experience on this wiki are likely to get lost easily if they are not given examples for how to structure and format their assigned pages.

If you only need 8 articles and if you do not want to use the fancy way of starting them, that is fine. To fill the now existing ones with content or formatting examples, you will have to paste something in by hand (preferably copied from the template after you have adapted that), while the button-press method would do this automatically.

I also recommend to change the article's names such that they do not contain the course name, i.e. from U00984 Food reward to Food reward. I can help with that. --Daniel Mietchen 13:30, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved

Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.

Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Biology and Health Sciences articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Biology and Health Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Biology or Health Sciences pages that have been recently edited here and here - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.
