Alright Derek-- At your prompting, I have hacked out a section on Western antecedents of the novel. Let me know what you think; it's about all I got on the ancient novel for now.

I might also chip in on the section on Jane Austen. It's been a while since I have done anything with Austen scholarship, but I'll try to contribute something.

Is there to be a disambiguated apple for the one that bonked Sir Isaac? (I've always cherished a cartoon where he's sitting under a tree, is bonked, raises a hand and declaims the law of gravity...then gets bonked again and goes ???)
Hi Derek,
You've been nominated to be a candidate for election to the Citizendium charter drafting committee.

As to Newtons, definitely disambiguateAside from Sir Isaac and the unit, does there need to be further disambiguation between fig newton (food) and fig newton (energy delivered by the impact of a reference fig, at terminal velocity in a 1G field)? As my first signed article, under compartment control system, it is my hope that some humor disambiguates CZ from WP.
If you haven't been following the discussion in the forums, we're getting ready to establish a charter for Citizendium that outlines the project's goals, ideals, and basic structureTo get the process moving, we put together a plan for electing a group of Citizens to compose a draft of the charter, which will then be submitted for community review. You can find more about the plan here.

You have been nominated for seats on both the Management and Editorial Councils in the July-August Special Election. The nominator was myself. To accept or decline these nominations, please visit the Nominations page here (for the Management Council seat) and here (for the Editorial Council Author seat) by midnight UTC on July 27th. You may write an election statement for each if you wish (linked from the Nominations page).

The Management Council seat runs until June 30th, 2014 or June 30th, 2015 (the successful candidate with the fewest votes receiving the shorter term) and the Editorial Council seat expires on December 31st, 2013. In the event that Referendum 1 is passed, all seats will expire on June 30th, 2014. Thanks! Citizendium charter drafting commitee nomination

Hi Derek, You've been nominated to be a candidate for election to the Citizendium charter drafting committee.

If you haven't been following the discussion in the forums, we're getting ready to establish a charter for Citizendium that outlines the project's goals, ideals, and basic structure. To get the process moving, we put together a plan for electing a group of Citizens to compose a draft of the charter, which will then be submitted for community review. You can find more about the plan here.

You've been nominated to be a candidate for election to that committee. The next step is up to you: you may either accept or decline the nomination by going here and following the instructions at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, just let any of those who accepted know. James F. Perry 04:54, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
