This is part of an emerging series of articles, which will probably have an overarching article of network-centric warfare. The series will certainly include the tactical networked computing systems such as the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), the naval AEGIS battle management system, and possibly other systems, perhaps not fully linked, including the Army Forward Area Air Defense and Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below.
The series may contain key sensors, usually platform specific, such as the AEGIS SPY series radars, SPS early warning radars, and SPG illuminators, as well as the Army/Marine Sentinel AN/MPQ-64 air search radar and Army AN/MPQ-53 engagement radar for the MIM-104 Patriot missile The AN/TPY-2 radar, which is the forward national ballistic missile defense creating controversy over its potential installation in Poland, is a definitely a part of the network-centric NBMD system that also receives feeds from AEGIS ships with the AN/SPY-2 BMD radars to their main battle radar/computer system.
Everyone is clear, I trust? Then, I would appreciate enlightenment and guidance. Howard C. Berkowitz 05:46, 2 September 2008 (CDT)
