Revision as of 09:34, 28 April 2010
It seems, von Neumann's main motivation to build the first computer was basically, to be able to simulate systems described by nonlinear partial differential equations, since, he argued, these are very important, but analog computing devices (widely used in that time) will never be able to do so. Can someone find a source? Boris Tsirelson 05:47, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
