In medicine and physiology, insulin-secreting cells, also called pancreatic beta cells, are a "type of pancreatic cell representing about 50-80% of the islet cells. Beta cells secrete insulin."^[1]

Beta cell function (HOMA-B) can be measured by:^[2]
