Music psychology is a branch of psychology that investigates when, where and why people engage in music and dance. Some researchers in this field are interested in the neural aspects of musical behaviours, others in the subjective or collective meaning of music making, and others in the emergence of the human capacities to start creating something that may be called 'premusics', or 'protomusics' or simply 'musics'.
