Natural Sciences     Social Sciences     Humanities     Arts     Applied Arts and Sciences     Recreation A project to develop a comprehensive compendium of knowledge Welcome to Citizendium, a wiki for providing free knowledge where authors use their real, verified names. We welcome anyone who wants to share their knowledge by writing and improving articles on virtually any subject. While this wiki was unsuccessful in achieving its original goals (see %newwin% [description on Quora], a core group of writers have continued writing articles in the wiki that we believe are useful, and which for various reasons could not be written in Wikipedia. After the probably ending of Citizendium as a public project on or about Sept. 30, 2020, we hope to keep the wiki running by a combination of donations and subscriptions. If in the future we decide to shut down, any leftover funds will be donated to the Internet Archive. See Recent Changes—an overview of articles we are writing now. We have 17,709 articles at different stages of development, of which 145 have expert-approved citable versions. Our community is collegial and congenial; everyone writes under his or her verified real name. We prefer new material but allow work from other sites to be imported and improved under certain conditions.
