I have 2 problems here: 1. I don't like 'continuously', and Derek ditto 'continuous'.  How about 'in winter it is night all the time'? And 2. I don't think 'with another country' is desirable because it implies Antarctica is a country, which it is not, 'country' implying 'state': you can see in the history that's why I removed it in the first place.
