Ernst Kaltenbrunner (-1946) was an official of Nazi Germany, with his final post being heading the Reich Main Security Administration (RSHA) of the SS. That organization controlled, among other offices, the RuSHA, Gestapo and SD.

He was tried as a major war criminal by the International Military Tribunal (Nuremberg). Walter Schellenberg, his subordinate in the SD, gave key prosecution testimony. [1]

The Tribunal sentenced him to death by hanging.
