It shares only one land border, to the south, with Germany. To the west lies the North Sea and the Baltic Sea is to the east. The Skagerrak and Kattegat waters separate Denmark from its Scandinavian neighbours, Norway and Sweden, although a tunnel and bridge over the Oresund now connects Denmark to Sweden.
