Canada is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy. Currently, Her Majesty Queen of Canada Elizabeth II is the head of state, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean is Governor General, and the Right Honourable Stephen Harper is the Prime Minister.
