In medicine, case reports are a type of article in a scientific journal that are "clinical presentations that may be followed by evaluative studies that eventually lead to a diagnosis."[1]
Standards for reporting cases exist.[2]
Some scientific journals, such as BMJ Case Reports, only publish case reports.
