My current appointment is as Research Fellow, Institute of European and Russian Studies, Carleton University, Canada. My diplomas are from MIT (Sc.B.), Penn State (M.A.), and University of Michigan (Ph.D.); pre- and post-doctoral awards took me a few other places. My fields of research and teaching are international relations, comparative politics, and political philosophy.
After a dozen years exclusively in universities, I expanded into policy analysis and consulting, mainly in Eurasian energy and security, with a sideline in decision analysis and organizational design.
