John Bolton is an American attorney and diplomat, associated with neo-conservatism. He was the U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations from 2005 to 2006; and was the 26th United States National Security Advisor (NSA) from 2018 to 2019.
Bolton served as NSA under Trump but has become a critic of his former boss and has accused him of "chickening out" of facing the Supreme Court.[1]
