In central Vietnam, National Highway 7 runs Dien Chau, via Ban Me Thuot to Nam Can. It is a route from Vietnam into Cambodia. It intersects Highway 14 in Ban Me Thuot.
It was the only escape road from Ban Me Thuot and the Central Highlands during the 1975 fall of South Vietnam
