I am a professor of history at The University of Akron Wayne College. My areas include Western and U.S. history and culture and I have been studying China of late. I have a particular interest in how film presents history. I use film extensively in my courses and have published and presented on ideas and techniques. My education includes B.A. Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, M.A. Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and Ph.D. Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. I taught at Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, Shawnee State University, Portsmouth, Ohio, and Ohio University campuses prior to accepting the appointment at Wayne College. I have traveled extensively and have escorted groups to destinations on four continents outside North America.
