Michael Corbett has a career as a filmmaker that began in 1969 at CBS affiliate television station KOTV Channel 6 in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a floor crew cameraman. He has worked on more than a thousand television commercials and dozens of feature films in roles as varied as grip/electric to producer/director. He was line producer on "Captiva Island," which had a successful theatrical release and aired on HBO and other premium channels. Other feature film credits include "Miami Hustle" as first assistant director, "Cat Chaser" as Key Grip and "The Lay Of The Land" as chief lighting technician (AKA Gaffer).

Corbett's first love as a filmmaker is camera. He has several credits as Cinematographer on low budget independent feature films including: "Bone Creek" (2008), "Scripture Cake: A Southern Cuisine Movie" (2007), "Root Doctor" (2005), "Dead Write" (2003), and "The Naked Eye" (1995).

Corbett's documentary credits include "Zimbabwe, Miracle in Africa." As cameraman and editor on this project, Corbett documented the peaceful transition of the minority Rhodesian government into the hands of black majority rule in the new country of Zimbabwe.

Corbett is licensed as a commercial pilot and has logged 256 hours as flight instructor. He began teaching film at Valencia Community College in 1990. Corbett presently serves as Director/Instructor of the Piedmont Community College Film and Video Production Technology Program in Yanceyville, North Carolina.
