My name is Meredith Vuylsteke, I work at the Hillsboro Public Library in the circulation department. I am currently enrolled in PCC's Library Media Certificate program. Because of my love of books and reading, a library was a natural for me. I became interested in children learning to read after my daughter was tested and found to be dyslexic. She is now 13 and reading at her grade level; it has been a learning experience for us both! I also have over ten years experience in the auto parts industry, working for three major Ford dealerships in the Portland-Metro area. I was one of only a few women to work in this industry at the time. Before going to work for Ford Motor Co., I was a licensed Hairstylist, Barber, Cosmetologist and Manicurist. I am a voracious reader, a working mother, and as you can see, I have worn many different "hats" in my life. My current interests include writing fiction. My stories are still all my own; but I practice this craft daily and one of these days will be ready, and brave enough, to let others see my work.
