I am a retired University lecturer in Microbiology, previously Head of Department of Biology in a large Technical College.

Qualifications: BSc CIBiol FIBiol graduating with a special Degree in Botany, and a General Degree in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry, both External degrees of the University of London in 1955. After National Service in the RAF, mostly in Egypt, as an Air wireless Mechanic Languages: native English (UK) speaker, Italian

Since retirement becoming editor of a journal for Mensa UK (for things Italian), a regular contributor to an ezine for the Association of Retired Persons on things to do with Mac computers, editor of a monthly ezine for the London Mac Users Group. (ie I have some knowledge of computing, but not at geek level) I am secretary of the London branch of the Institute of Biology (in the past I have served on virtually all the committees of the Institute, from member to chairman, including the ruling body)
