I was born in Sydney, Australia, but spent much of my early childhood in Leeds, England. Since then, I have lived mostly in Newcastle, Australia, but I moved to live in Columbus, Ohio, in 1999. Most of my working life I have been a cataloguer at academic libraries in New South Wales, chiefly at the University of Newcastle. I have also worked at as university tutor in mathematics, as a translation editor, and as a Brinnel tester. Since 1999 I have been an Assistant Editor of the Dewey Decimal Classification. I have a B.A. and Dip.Lib. from the University of New South Wales, and a B.Com. from the University of Newcastle.
