M.S. (Astronomy) Swinburne University of Technology; B.A. (Psychology) University of Alabama in Birmingham—focuses on the educational applications of technology. He is currently developing an integrated education and outreach website for the National Center for Atmospheric Research, as well as a series of online courses in Climate and Global Change. In addition to his website work, Dennis is also a leader/facilitator for UCAR’s professional development program, working with teachers in the Modeling in the Geosciences and Climate and Global Change geoscience educators’ workshops. In particular, he developed a series of GIS and System Dynamics modeling exercises targeted for use by geoscience educators in middle and high school classrooms. Dennis is also an adjunct professor in the GIS department at the University of Denver, where he teaches introductory and cartography courses. His astronomical research interests include modeling the dynamics of the primordial solar system, particularly the late lunar bombardment period.
