I graduated in Mathematics from the University of Rome in 1987. Since then I have been working as an IT consultant for about 10 years, partly as as programmer-analyst on mainframe and Unix environments, partly doing research on distributed computing in projects co-funded by the European Union. Starting from 1997 I have been with the Italian government IT agency (AIPA, then CNIPA) in a variety of technical and "political" roles. I am now assigned to the Office for International Relations where I follow all activities and projects that our agency is carrying out, mainly with the European Union.
My interests are focused on the interaction between ICT and public administration, a field sometime called eGovernment. In fact, most of my work is based on the way public money is spent to provide faster and easier interaction between governments, citizens and businesses.
