My name is Bob Eager, and I am a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the
University of Kent, Canterbury, England. My educational background:
BSc (Honours) in Electronic Engineering MSc in Computer Science I am a Fellow (the highest non-honorary grade) of the BCS (British Computer Society), a member of the IET (the Institution of Engineering and Technology), and a member of the ACM (the U.S. Association for Computing Machinery). I am a Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and European Engineer (Eur Ing).
I have worked as a lecturer and senior lecturer in Computer Science for 29 years. I authored one of the early books on DOS, and also co-authored two editions of a successful textbook on operating systems. I have been involved, for well over 30 years, in the field of macro processors and portable software. I was one of the very early users of the UNIX operating system, back in July 1976, and have used it ever since.
