I am a sociology and religious studies undergraduate at The University of Oklahoma. I am from Oklahoma but plan to leave for graduate school after I complete my undergraduate work. Recently, my scholarly work has focused on Second Life and it’s social structure, as well as applying Erich Fromm and his Revolution of Hope: Towards a Humanized Technology .
I have presented papers at both the Oklahoma State University Sociology Symposium and OSU Research Week, both in 2007. My research interests are mainly STS (Science, Technology and Society) and Religion, with a focus on the ways in which Technology is understood and used in a Religious world and the way in which Religion is taken in a Technological world (A.k.a. Postmodern Society). I also try to view things from the Frommian perspective and as such I use Fromm in a critical fashion to provide Cultural and Historical perspective on recent developments in Technology and Society.
