I am a Dutchman, born 1972. I followed high school with good grades, got an M.A. in mathematics with some added courses in physics from Groningen University, doing my graduation work in the area of mathematical logic. After this I got my Ph.D. in the area of formal methods in computer science at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In a similar area I later had a postdoc at Koblenz University, and after some time of being unemployed I have been working as a programmer since November 2005. Other things worth mentioning are that I know quite a bit about voyages of discovery as an autodidact, leading to a website and a mailing list of the subject.
