I prefer the concise wording used on Wikipedia, "Main article: XYZ". Fredrik Johansson 12:27, 25 January 2007 (CST)

I agree it is too long, it seems a bit intrusive. Chris Day (Talk) 13:50, 25 January 2007 (CST)
It's a bit on the long side, I agree. But I feel like "Main article: XYZ" is a bit terse. What if we shrunk it by about 10% using CSS or something? --ZachPruckowski 14:00, 25 January 2007 (CST)
How about <small> around it? Ryan McCue Let's have a chat 01:57, 28 January 2007 (CST)
The current text defeats the purpose of the original Wikipedia template. "See also" already exists, the "main" template is surely meant to indicate that the page contains only a brief resume of a topic dealt with in much greater detail elsewhere. —Joseph Rushton Wakeling 12:49, 9 February 2007 (CST)
I think "See Also" refers to articles which have a "parent-child" or "lateral" relationship with the current article, borne out of historical/geographical/semantic/idiomatic contexts (depending on the title of the article and its content), though these (linked-to) articles may not be expected to deal with additional details or more precise information than already handled in the current article. On the other hand, "Main" will implicitly indicate that what follows is not complete in its coverage, is not the whole-and-end of the topic at hand, and if the reader is interested in details rather than just cursory information, please feel free to visit the link in "main"
May be we could try For more information, see {{...}} or For further details, see {{...}} or....you get my point?!

font size optional?

Can the font tag (small) be made optional? or passed as a param to include small or normal sized text - the current size is way to uncomfortable while reading - Interestingly, the "See Also" template has no such font constraint. Partho Choudhury 12:53, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

Hi Partho, be bold, your ideas seem good. Chris Day (Talk) 20:08, 1 April 2007 (CDT)
OK I will go ahead and try an experiment by changing the font to normal/large. If someone has a better idea, please post here and get a common ground.

Multiple entries to "Main article" parameter list

As discussed earlier, the Main Article template points to an "an article dealing with a dilated or expanded form" of the current topic, rather than some sort of "parent child" or "sibling" relationship between the 2 topics; In that context, I do not think it is necessary to have multiple parameters to include more than one "Main article" page in the parameter list. In other words, a particular topic can be expanded upon in only one other article, rather than several others. Partho Choudhury 01:49, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

"For more information, sees: . . ."

When two articles are placed in the {{main}} template (e.g., {{main|here|there}}), it produces "
