Rush is a Canadian rock band originally formed in August, 1968: presently composed of bassists, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. Rush is a long-standing act, with 23 gold, 14 platinum and 3 multi-platinum albums awarded by the RIAA. They are perhaps best known for their rock opera album 2112, which is set in the future and features the re-discovery of the guitar, a banned instrument.
