Quang Binh Province
It is the most narrow part of Vietnam, just north of the former Demilitarized Zone between North and South Vietam. On its north is Ha Tinh Province and on its south is Quang Tri Province. The South China Sea forms its eastern border, and its west side is the boundary with Laos.
A new airport has opened in Dong Ha. Formerly a military airport, the remodeled facility is intended to provide access to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, which has been designated, by UNESCO, as a world cultural heritage center. The park is both scenic and provides an unusual look through the geologic strata of different areas.
