Foot (prosody) [r]: Unit of metre, i.e. rhythm, that organises syllables or other units within the prosodic structure of many spoken languages, and can also underlie lines of verse (e.g. iambic pentameter being five pairs of unstressed-stressed syllables, or feet). [e]
