Diack is native of Senegal, West Africa. He is currently president of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences (LAS) and also director of its Science Education Division since 2000. He has extensive experience in Multimedia Learning materials development and e-learning design and represents the state of Louisiana as consultant to the Multimedia Educational Resources for Learning and Online teaching (MERLOT) since 2000.

Diack is co-host of the BCCE Symposium on “E-learning Design and Delivery”. He assumes regional and national leadership role in the fields of instructional multimedia design and educational resource development, pedagogical integration and assessment of technology in the classroom and design and implementation of professional development programs in technology-based instruction.

In recent years, Diack’s primary research interests has been in E-Readiness and modalities to promote sustainable Information and Communication Technology & E-Learning (ICT&EL) transfer to Africa through the building of professional community of practices. Technology solutions are primarily based on Open Content Global Learning Repository (OC-GLR) and Open Source Software (OSS).

Dr. Diack is a Lucent Technology Fellow and was instrumental in the success of the Lucent Scholars High School Mathematics, Science and Technology Enrichment Program, The Khula Project (1999/2001), in the Republic of South Africa. International Awards related to the Khula project included recognitions from Rhodes University, Vista University, and the University of Fort Hare in the Republic of South Africa.
