- Ingenieur (Dutch university degree) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Twente University, Netherlands
- PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Cambridge, England
- Post-doc for 2 1/2 years in the Mathematics Department, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland
- Currently a post-doc in the research group in scientific computation and dynamical systems at La Trobe University, Australia
