Ulrich von Hassell (1881-1944) was a career German diplomat who entered the Foreign Office in 1908, was dismissed for anti-Nazi views in 1938, and joined the German Resistance. He worked with Ludwig Beck and Carl Goerdeler in early assassination plans against Adolf Hitler. He was arrested and executed after 1944 assassination attempt against Hitler.

In the Resistance, he tried to recruit Franz Halder, Friedrich Fromm and Erwin Rommel.
