This article is about the rock band. For other uses of the term The Sisters Of Mercy, please see The Sisters Of Mercy (disambiguation).

The Sisters Of Mercy are a rock band from Leeds, England. They are viewed as one of the most legendary representatives of the gothic genre, though they avoid this label which they find too caricatural. In fact, they often blend gothic with heavy metal, industrial and pop. They were founded in 1979. The band's lineup has changed many times but has always revolved around its frontman and charismatic singer Andrew Eldritch.

Surprisingly, The Sisters only edited albums in the 1980's and the 1990's, with a lot of success. Since then, they have never stopped composing new songs and making new concerts, but without offering any new album to the greatest distress of their followers.

Albums:

  • 1985 — First And Last And Always
  • 1987 — Floodland
  • 1990 — Vision Thing
  • 1992 — Some Girls Wander By Mistake
  • 1993 — A Slight Case Of Overbombing
