John Murtha (June 17, 1932 – February 8, 2010) was a U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania for the Democratic Party. He served on the House Appropriations Committee. He was a retired colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps and was the first Vietnam Veteran with combat service to serve in Congress.
