The FDNY chartered the John Fuller from 1865 to 1875

The John Fuller was a salvage tugboat that the Fire Department of New York chartered to serve as a fireboat, from 1865 to 1875, prior to the commissioning of its own fireboat, the William F. Havemeyer.[1] The FDNY continued to occasionally rent the John Fuller when one of its own fireboats was in drydock, undergoing maintenance.[2]
