Galaxy Quest was a 1999 film spoofing the science fiction television phenomenon Star Trek. The story involves has-been actors from a sci-fi tv series, who unwittingly become the protagonists in a real-life space adventure.

It was generally well-received by critics and fans alike, though The Village Voice gave it a tepid review. Actors from various Star Trek series were quoted as having liked it.

The film starred a large ensemble cast, including Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shaloub, and Enrico Colantoni and provided breakthrough exposure for Daryl Mitchell and Justin Long.
