Camellia is a block cipher from Mitsubshi and Nippon Telephone and Telegraph. It can be used as a drop-in replacement for AES in many applications since it has the same 128-bit block size and takes the same 128, 192 or 256-bit keys. It is one of the standard ciphers for the NESSIE (New European Schemes for Signatures, Integrity and Encryption) project. Camellia is a Feistel cipher with 18 rounds for a 128-bit key, 24 for larger keys. Some of the design is quite similar to NTT's earlier cipher E2, which was a candidate in the AES competition.
