In allergy and immunology, the CD63 antigen is a glycoprotein with a molecular mass of 30-60 kDa,[1] which is activated by allergic sensitization of basophils. Since basophils themselves are rare, it has proven convenient to measure their activation using flow cytometry of CD63. [2]
