Colorado is a state in the western USA. Its capital is Denver. On August 1, 1876, Colorado became the 38th state to enter the union. Colorado is known as the "Centennial State" because it entered 100 years after the the nation was born. The current governor, in 2023, of Colorado is Jared Polis, a member of the Democratic Party.
