I have a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree in Computer Science, and have spent the last ten years in computer and software related work. I spent most of that time employed at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory doing research and development in the fields of Graph Theory, Network Science and Information Visualization. I was one of the principal software developers for the Starlight Information Visualization System. More recently I joined Infinia Corporation as a Software Engineer. The topic of my Masters thesis is Dynamic Map Label Deconfliction, a subfield of Automatic label placement (published; see link below).

In more distant history I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology at Multnomah University and a Masters of Divinity at Western Seminary. I spent 10 years in full-time Christian pastoral ministry, before I decided to "re-tool". It is my ambition to someday merge both of my career paths, combining the expertise I gained in both arenas to offer a uniquely balanced voice in matters of faith and technology.
