Nitrogen tetroxide [r]: A liquid with a low boiling point (21.4 C), usually kept liquid by pressure; an extremely poisonous, highly reactive oxidizer of colorless dinitrogen tetraoxide (N2O4) and red-brown nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in a temperature-dependent equilibrium; used as a hypergolic oxidizer in rocket engines [e]
