Ground penetrating weapons are military devices that penetrate earth, concrete, or rock to disrupt underground structures or to produce specialized effects caused by shock or cavity formation underneath surface structures.

The most basic requisites for such a weapon is a casing, especially the nose, hard enough to withstand the impact and penetration, and enough speed to provide the energy for penetration.
