For the last eighteen years John held executive positions at a software and services company that specialized in the development and delivery of learning content, services, and the associated technological infrastructure. His executive responsibilities ranged from marketing to consulting services to international operations where he managed business development and marketing initiatives in a range of countries. Additional areas of responsibility included the development of vertically focused sales channels in North America and providing executive level support at named accounts. He has delivered addresses at the Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning, Computer Training World, Training Directors Forum, WBT Producer, ASTD, the British Association for Open Learning, and SmartNet (New Zealand). John has a BA in philosophy (California State University) and an MA in philosophy (The Ohio State University). John is an amateur triathlete focusing on Ironman distance races; he lives in Granville, OH with his wife and daughter.
