Three Tracks to Editorship

Academic Track

  • Sending a brief introductory letter and an attached or linked CV that includes links to reliable third-party sources that support claims.

Applicants must provide adequate evidence of claims. Official transcripts may be requested.

Editors applying through the Professional Track must hold a terminal professional degree in their field and have a demonstrable record of significant work and at least some publishing experience.

This may demonstrated by:

  • Sending a brief introductory letter and an attached or linked CV or resume that includes links to reliable third-party sources that support claims of work and publishing experience.

Applicants must provide adequate evidence of claims. Official transcripts may be requested.

Equivalency Track

Depending upon their educational qualifications, editors applying through the Equivalencey Track must hold varying levels of formal work and publishing experience that tabulate to the typically expected expertise outcomes of applicants in the Academic and Professional Tracks. Applicants who should apply through the Equivalencey Track include:

  • Persons with terminal degrees in fields other than those for which they are claiming expertise.
  • Persons with Masters degrees degrees in fields for which they are claiming expertise.
  • Persons with Masters degrees degrees in fields other than those for which they are claiming expertise.
  • Persons who hold anything less than a Masters degree but who claim eminence in their field.

In the above cases, and in proportionate balance with their holding or lack of holding formal educational qualifications, applicants must demonstrate a record of work and publishing experience that tabulate to the typically expected expertise outcomes of applicants in the Academic and Professional Tracks.

Equivalency may demonstrated by:

  • Sending a brief introductory letter and an attached or linked CV or resume that includes links to reliable third-party sources that support claims of work and publishing experience.

Applicants must provide adequate evidence of claims. Official transcripts, if applicable, may be requested.
