User:Bernard Scott Walker

My name is Bernard Walker and I am a software developer and tester working in the Canadian capital.

I have earned by Bachelors of Science (Honours) in 2004 through St. Francis Xavier University (STFX), followed by my Masters of Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 2007. During my stay with UNB, I have also earned a Diploma of University Teaching through the School of Extended Learning, located on the UNB campus. During my tenure I worked under Dr. Murray Crease (University of Glasgow) through the National Research Council (NRC) as a "Guest Worker". While under Dr. Crease, I focused on the development of a software usability evaluation tool for laboratory evaluations. This work was applied to my Masters Thesis, and can be currently requested through UNB's library catalog.

As of 2006, I have been working for an aviation and defence contractor. My time with this company has been split between software development and software testing.

My research throughout my academic career has been on Human Computer Interaction, Reversible Logic (Masters), Software Design and the Intent of Computing (Undergraduate). I have also done independent research on teaching methods for adult learners and training seminars.

My current interests include vintage computing, modern Japanese authors, and software evaluation.
