Mark Rodeghier (1953-) has been President and Scientific Director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies since 1986. His undergraduate work at Indianz University was in astrophysics, and his graduate studies in sociology at the University of Chicago, with a dissertation, "Factors Influencing Attitudes Toward Controversial Research : Quantitatively Disentangling the Social from the Scientific", emphasized attitudes about the study of extraterrestrial intelligence.

J. Allen Hynek mentored him in the study of unidentified flying objects.
