I'm a graduate student at Oxford with primary research interests in mediaeval philosophy and the philosophy of language; I also teach some ancient philosophy. I'm currently writing a DPhil thesis (to be completed in 2009) on a 14th-century treatment of statements about the future.

I hold a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Balliol College, Oxford; an MA in Cultural and Intellectual History 1300-1650 from the Warburg Institute, London; and an MSc in the History of Science from Imperial College, London. I have had an article published on a topic in 14th-century natural philosophy.

At an amateur level, I'm interested in almost all branches of intellectual inquiry. I am a compulsive book-buyer and a surprisingly slow reader, a lover of cheese and a campaigner for real ale, a fan of '70s prog and a setter of cryptic crosswords. I spend far too much time on my computer.
