James Taylor considers himself, first and foremost, a Scot, next a Moravian and finally a European. He lives in Moray, north-eastern Scotland, surrounded by the history of Scotland. He is a local-government finance manager, who has an intense interest in the mediaeval history of Scotland. He also has a general interest in all periods of history, with special emphasis on American history (he is married to a Wisconsin girl, after all), Celtic history, and European history (especially of the twentieth-century).
James has a special interest in the Anglo-Scottish Wars of the thirteenth and fourteenth-centuries, on which he is currently writing a book. He has a detailed knowledge of the life of Andrew de Moray, on whom he has had a number of newspaper and magazine articles published.
Outside history he enjoys American Football, being an avid follower of the San Francisco 49ers (and to a less extent the Green Bay Packers), and Italy and all things Italian (loves the food, the wine and the cars, driving an Alfa Romeo).
