Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (born October 7, 1952) is the President of Russia. He succeeded Boris Yeltsin on December 31, 1999. Previously he was a KGB agent and businessman. He is married to Lyudmila Putina, née Shkrebneva, and they have two daughters, Maria Putina and Yekaterina Putina.
