Terschelling is one of the Frisian Islands. It is also one of the municipalities of the Dutch province of Friesland. Terschelling lies between the islands Vlieland and Ameland, and has the Wadden Sea to its south and the North Sea to its north.
There are fifteen settlements on the island: West-Terschelling (capital of the island), Baaiduinen, Formerum, Hee, Hoorn, Kaart, Kinnum, Landerum, Lies, Midsland, Midsland aan Zee, Midsland-Noord, Oosterend, Seerijp, West aan Zee.
